This apparatus is used to determine the uncompacted void content of a fine/coarse aggregate sample. The method indicates the angularity, sphericity, and workability of the aggregate in a mixture for which it may be used. Each sample is mixed with a spatula until it is homogeneous. After filling the hopper, the sample is allowed to flow into the 100 ml copper cylindrical measure. The measure has a locating hole to fit a lug on the Funnel Stand to ensure each sample is tested with precision and repeatability. Once the user strikes off excess material, mass is determined and void content is computed.
